			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OK, it&#8217;s the beginning of April soon, springtime is here&#8230;, and how many of you have stopped going to the gym already (or have not even made it through the door yet) ??? or are you not going as often as you were when you started in January or February? We all should know that fitness helps to improve our over all health, let alone give us more energy, and feel stronger and look better.  If you find it difficult to keep promises to your self to improve your health, I will give you some tips.</p>
<p>I know it is difficult to keep our determination level up to get into shape or loose weight. I see members join with enthusiasm, work out for a few weeks, only to see them drop out of sight&#8230; It is a common occurrence which we have all probably experienced at one time or another.  And sometime we may feel that we just do not have the abilities or a strong enough desire&#8230;. What really helps depends upon your personality. Sometimes, all we need is a buddy, someone to go with us, and to help us stay in the habit. Someone to encourage us when we wake up with a sore back or not enough energy to get ourselves out of bed. If we can encourage other to keep going for long enough, we create the habit.</p>
<p>But you know habits are easy to form and easy to brake&#8230;.especially if they are new habits. Generally it is thought that anyone can create a habit if you do something consistently for 21 to 30 days. But is must be consistent, and you must desire, understand or see some benefit from keeping the habit. The best way I know of to really help us see the benefits, especially in weight loss or fitness, (since they start out small or unnoticeable at first) is to keep a journal. With a journal, you can track your eating habits, measurements and fitness routines to help you see your minor improvements, that otherwise you may not remember or notice. It has been demonstrated, that we all have a much bigger chance of being successful at our fitness goals or any goals, if we simply track what we are doing in some type of journal. It can be written in a small notebook, typed on a computer, or entered into a specially designed journal that is specific to your needs and goals. We offer a very nice fitness journal at our facility. I hope this helps some of you out there&#8230;.</p>

Of course I can loose the fat around my stomach if I work out!</p>

<p>Yes, you can loose fat around your stomach, but you will also, at the same time, be loosing fat from all the rest of the places that your body stores fat&#8230; which is pretty much everywhere! When you work out a particular place on your body, the muscles will tighten up, make you look slimmer and become stronger, but the fat does not move&#8230;. That is when you work out doing some form of cardiovascular exercise, long enough for your body to start pulling calories of it&#8217;s fat reserves (which is a minimum of about 15 minutes), the fat is coming from all over your body from your toes to your neck. You cannot selectively loose fat by working out! Of course you could loose it with lipo-suction, but then you have no health benefit of working out, which does a lot more for you body and overall health than just burning calories&#8230; And that is the truth.</p>

<p>A lot of times when people want to loose weight they try to do a low fat diet&#8230;. Well that is good depending upon your definition of &#8220;low fat&#8221;. Obviously it help to lower the calorie level in your diet, but your body needs some fats. So next time, try to <strong>Add Some Good Fats to your diet!</strong></p>
<p>That avocado will help with another fat-fighting formula: Adding &#8220;good&#8221; fats like the <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">monounsaturated</span></strong> and polyunsaturated fats found in olive oil, avocado, and nuts can help fend off flab, <em><strong>and they are good for you!</strong></em></p>
<p>In a study from Harvard&#8217;s Channing Laboratory, participants on a Mediterranean diet loaded with these types of fats (including fat from fish) lost an average of 9 to 10 pounds, while those on a low-fat regimen lost only 7.</p>
<p>How do they work? Fats like these take longer to digest than carbohydrates, keeping you full, and some research shows that these fats may also benefit blood sugar control, so you&#8217;ll stay energized and won&#8217;t need to reach for a snack.</p>
